Additional Qualification
The “Sharing Worldviews – Learning in Encounter for Common Values in Diversity” Additional Qualification enables participants to act in a diverse setting with a higher degree of didactic professionalism and to create enriching learning processes through the use of diverse perspectives on the world (worldviews). The qualification is available to university students, teachers in-training and teachers of religion, ethics, philosophy (and other subjects with a respective worldview) affiliated to one of the participating universities.
At the core of the Additional Qualification is the theory and practice of Learning in Encounter by sharing worldviews. Learning in Encounter is an approach focused on personal communication in diverse religious, secular and ideological contexts. Participants will engage with relevant topics from their own perspective and then discuss them with other participants including their perspectives in an international, intercultural, and intersectional setting.
The Additional Qualification is available to university students currently enrolled at a partner university or college. Information about the partner institutions is available here.
At the end of the Additional Qualification participants will:

develop their professional identity as an educator through the critical reflection of their own worldview and attitude towards other worldviews

know different approaches, methods, and procedures of project-based tasks that bring different worldviews into dialogue

be able of applying them and bring pupils and students in learning processes of a respectful encounter

be capable of differentiated judgment and debate of religious and ideological topics in a respectful manner

be familiar with interdisciplinary lessons using religion, philosophy, and ethics for diverse learner groups
The curriculum of the Additional Qualification is approved by each partner institution. The partner universities may award 15 credits (ECTS).
The study programme consists of three modules: basic, advanced, and final. Following this order is recommended but not mandatory. The first two module contain one online course and one on campus course. To complete the Additional Qualification, participants elaborate a practical project in the terms of 'Sharing Worldviews' in an international project group.
