Launch of the platform "Sharing Worldviews“
At 2:00 PM on March 9, 2023, the project partners behind the project, "Sharing Worldviews: Learning in Encounter for Common Values in Diversity", celebrated the launch of their online platform at the Heidelberg University of Jewish Studies (HfJS). The project is funded by Erasmus+, a program of the European Union, which supports youth, education, vocational training, and athletics within Europe.
The international project group uses a four-phase pedagogical concept based in subject cooperative encounter learning. This concept supports worldview exchanges on a local and international level. Additionally, it´s efficacy has been proven with learner groups in schools and post-secondary institutions.
"Our goal is to bring together different worldviews so students with different views can meet and converse respectfully and meaningfully," explains project coordinator Professor Dr. Katja Boehme from the Heidelberg University of Education. The multilingual platform, presented by Professor Dr. Edda Strutzenberger-Reiter and Professor Dr. Manfred Tetz from the Kirchliche Pädagogische Hochschule Wien/Krems, provides educational material and a certification course focused on worldview exchanges in the classroom.
The keynote speech was given by Prof. Dr. Frederek Musall, deputy rector of the HfJS.
Expansion of the platform will continue throughout 2023. In addition to new material, an area for platform users to exchange ideas and network is planned. Furthermore a certification will be available through the platform. Students of partner universities and teachers can earn it through classes offered directly on the platform and on campus.
