The various tensions between different national and international political and social forces, some of which have erupted into violent clashes, do not stop at the classroom and manifest themselves in forms of radicalization and discrimination. To counteract this, over 40 teachers of Catholic, Protestant and Islamic religion, ethics and philosophy education from all over Germany (Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Saxony, Bavaria, North Rhine-Westphalia and Baden-Württemberg) came together at the Heidelberg University of Education at the beginning of last week. Here, the teachers were introduced to the concept of Sharing Worldviews: Learning in Encounter for Common Values in Diversity internationally known speakers from Ankara University, the University of Jewish Studies, Kassel University, Karlsruhe University of Education and Heidelberg University of Education. With the digitalization and internationalization of the concept made possible by an Erasmus+ Project, teachers and all their colleagues have access to subject-cooperating teaching materials in Turkish, Greek, English and German on the http://www.sharing-worldviews.com platform - which will be updated and also made available in eTwinning and the Europeen School Education Platform an ongoing process in the future.

The event was organized by partners of the project 'Sharing Worldviews', the PH Heidelberg, the Professional School and the Archbishop Hermann Foundation in cooperation with the Center for School Quality and Teacher Training Baden-Württemberg (ZSL).
